Chesterfield Parole and Probation
The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services offender search covers community supervision. It does not serve as the Chesterfield County jail roster. Parole ordinarily follows a period in SCDC custody and permits the rest of a sentence to be served in the community under Board authority. Probation is imposed by a court. It may follow custody, or the court may order it without a state-prison term. Both can include rules, reporting, and review by an agent.
A person may have been released yet not be on either form of supervision. Another may leave SCDC on parole but have no Chesterfield jail release entry for that event. Start with the system tied to the event being checked: the county record for a Goodale Road exit, SCDC's separate released-inmate search for a state-prison discharge, and SCDPPPS for ongoing supervision.
| Point | Parole | Probation |
|---|---|---|
| Authority | Board-authorized community service of part of a sentence | Court-ordered supervision |
| Prior custody | Ordinarily follows SCDC custody | May follow custody or begin without state imprisonment |
| Best verification | SCDPPPS record, Board result, and SCDC release entry | SCDPPPS record and sentencing court docket |
| End point | Formal discharge or other authorized end of supervision | Completion, discharge, or a later court action |
- Parole
- Conditional community service of part of a sentence after state custody.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision instead of, or after, custody.
- Discharge
- The formal end of a sentence or supervision term.
- Absconder
- A supervised person alleged to have stopped reporting or left supervision without permission.
Verify Chesterfield Post-Release Supervision
SCDPPPS accepts several valid search combinations. A first and last name may be used together. A SID, which is the state's identifying number, may be used alone. A first or last name can be paired with year of birth. County must be combined with a SID, first name, or last name. Broad or invalid combinations may not return a useful match, so compare the identifying fields carefully.
- Open the official SCDPPPS offender search and enter a valid field combination.
- Compare the full name, SID, birth-year detail, supervision county, and displayed category. Do not select a record by name alone.
- Check the snapshot date. Online results represent the previous day, not a live same-day roster.
- Call the Chesterfield County office for a same-day question or when the supervising county is unclear.
- Use the Chesterfield court docket to distinguish a probation order from parole and to find a revocation or warrant proceeding.
- For a state-prison exit, compare the result with the SCDC released-inmate search. The Chesterfield County released-inmate search path explains the separate county and state release records.
Chesterfield Supervision Office Details
The local supervision office is housed in the Chesterfield County courthouse. That location creates a useful verification path because the supervision office and local court records are at the same street address but answer different questions. SCDPPPS confirms current community-supervision status. The Clerk or Magistrate record shows the court order, disposition, and later proceedings. Neither office should be treated as the source of the county jail's actual exit time.

The official Chesterfield office page should be checked before a visit or call. No public hours are documented in the research source, so do not assume courthouse hours also govern SCDPPPS. Give the person's full name and SID if known. Ask which county supervises the case and whether the online status remains current.
The official office profile also shows the local categories and contact route used for Chesterfield County supervision. That source is pictured below so the dated totals can be distinguished from a person-level offender result.
The image supports a same-day call to the county office when the statewide search snapshot is too old. It is not a list of supervised people.
The July 14, 2026 office snapshot listed 264 probation cases, 9 parole cases, 6 community-supervision cases, 4 supervised-reentry cases, 7 Jessie's Law tracking cases, and no supervised-furlough cases. These are dated aggregate counts. They do not identify people and cannot verify one person's status.
Chesterfield Parole Hearing Records
A parole hearing is a step before a possible state-prison release, not proof that release occurred. The Board's parole, pardon, and release search accepts valid combinations of first name, last name, SCDC number, and hearing month. Individual dates generally appear about 30 days before a hearing once schedules are final. Matters can be moved, and posted results can be delayed.
Results may show a grant, conditional grant, denial with reasons, a matter taken under advisement, a rescheduled hearing, or a postponement for a detainer or pending charge. A conditional grant can be rescinded before it becomes effective when conditions are not met. Physical release may also await processing or resolution of another hold. Confirm a completed state-prison exit through the SCDC released tool, then use SCDPPPS to check supervision.
Board proceedings are held at 293 Greystone Boulevard in Columbia. Inmates appear by video from SCDC, hearings are public by law, and the agency makes an audio record. The annual calendar shows when Full Board, Single Panel, Pardon, and Administrative meetings are planned. The individualized search is still the better source for one case because it ties a person to a scheduled month and later result. After a denial, the research states that a violent-offense rehearing is generally two years, subject to a possible legal exception, while a nonviolent rehearing is generally one year.
Eligibility turns on the offense, offense date, sentence, mandatory minimum, and statutory exclusions. South Carolina Code Title 24, Chapter 21 includes different fractions and credit rules. General landmarks cannot be used to promise a Chesterfield County release date.
Chesterfield Supervision and Warrants
Supervision conditions are the rules stated in the order and agency record. They can involve reporting, location, approved conduct, treatment, or other case-specific terms. A suspected violation may lead to an agency response, warrant, court filing, or revocation process. Revocation means a court or authorized body may cancel community supervision after the required process. A public search result alone does not establish that a violation occurred.
SCDPPPS also publishes a Most Wanted Offenders page and operates a hotline at 1-888-761-6175. Entries may show “AT LARGE” or “CAPTURED,” a county, original offense, identifiers, and a photograph. It is a selected enforcement list, not a full Chesterfield County parole and probation roster. “At large” is not an ordinary release status. Urgent safety concerns belong with 911.
For a person not on that list, check the dated SCDPPPS result and the relevant court docket. The Chesterfield Public Index can reveal a filed warrant or revocation matter, but the docket must be read in date order. A later entry may change what an older order appears to say.
Chesterfield Supervision Release Alerts
SC VINE is SCDC's state-prison custody and notification layer. The free automated service at 1-866-727-2846 can provide current location and projected dates. SCDC Victim Services at 1-800-835-0304 assists with registration for a particular offender. These state-prison services do not prove that every Chesterfield County jail record participates in VINELink.
A VINE alert reports an agency-fed custody change. It is not a certified release sheet, parole discharge, or court disposition. Data can lag, and “release” from one custodian can mean transfer to another. Use the alert as a prompt to check the SCDC released record, SCDPPPS supervision status, or Chesterfield jail record, based on which agency held the person.
Note: A projected date, hearing result, custody alert, and completed release entry are four different records.
Chesterfield Supervision Discharge Records
Supervision ends through a formal agency or court process, not merely because a name vanishes from the public search. A completed discharge is the record that shows supervision has ended. When the online offender search no longer lists the person, request confirmation from SCDPPPS and consult the court record where probation was ordered.
Parole and probation records also should not be confused with a release record. SCDPPPS supplies continuing-supervision information. SCDC supplies the state-prison release event. The Chesterfield County Detention Center record supplies a county jail exit. Keeping those sources separate prevents a supervision end date from being mistaken for the day a person physically left custody.
A court docket can add the final layer for probation. Search the Chesterfield Public Index by name or case number, select the right court agency, and read entries in date order. The sentencing entry may state probation, while a later filing can concern a warrant, violation, or revocation. Municipal matters may remain with the municipality rather than the countywide index. For parole, the Board result and SCDPPPS record are more direct, but the SCDC released-inmate entry still provides the distinct prison-release event.
When a formal discharge record is needed, identify the person by full name and SID, state the supervision county, and ask SCDPPPS for the existing record that shows the end of supervision. A narrow request avoids asking staff to reconstruct a history that no single public screen contains. Keep the result with the release and court records so each date retains its proper meaning.
